Day before yesterday I started a 4 gallon batch of mead with a gallon of tupelo honey, energizer, nutrient and added a cup of white raisins about 12 hours into primary. I haven't seen a batch krausen up and get so foamy like that before. I thought I was going to have an MEA in there without stirring.

It sure makes my office smell good though.

Yes, the antifoam drops are a silicon product like Simethicone used in the infant formula drops (Phazyme), or the adults products to prevent gas. Ingesting it is not harmful, and in any case, you only need a few drops for 5 gallon batch. It can really help to maximize the volume in a fermenter without a MEA.
