Urgent Call to Action: In 2012, Rep. Ray Rodrigues (R- Bonita Springs, Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel), campaigned to go to Tallahassee to reduce burdensome regulations on job-creators and supported diversifying the Florida economy. Yesterday, he sponsored HB1329 which would kill a growing industry - the craft beer industry - in his own backyard. HB 1329 would make it so no new brewery could open with a tasting room. There are currently 3 breweries with tasting rooms in southwest Florida and there are at least 4 more in planning stages, set to open in 2014. So much for diversifying the economy and eliminating burdensome regulations that prohibit job creation and growth. It seems in his short tenure Rodrigues has spent too much time being wined and dined by the big beer lobbyists in Tallahassee and has turned his back on his campaign promises and his own constituents. Call (239) 433-6501 and tell Representative Rodrigues to say NO to the big beer lobbyists and drop HB 1329.
