Hi, I'm going to brew a nutty brown ale tomorrow. The person at my HBS ordered flaked wheat instead of flaked oat. Can I use standard flaked oat I can find in grocery stores or the one used in brewery is different? I don't want to wait another week to brew this. Thanks.
 
Use the minute or instant oats - I'm using 1 lb in a Oatmeal Stout tomorrow and I've used it in the past that worked out great.

Just anything instant.

BTW - I have a lb of flaked wheat also - not sure what I'm going to do with it. Never seen a recipe that uses it.
