I just completed my first yeast starter for my first lager im brewing in a couple of days. Found out my pot was too small after boiled over as soon as I turned up heat. Quickly transferred it into several smaller pots. I have my flask on my stir plate now but have alittle concern. There was some black flakes in the wort befor I pitched the yeast. I made sure all pots and equipment were clean and sanatized. I pitched a quarter of a teaspoon of fermax yeast nutrient in the boil and that is the only thing I can think of. Any ideas?

You probably had a little DME scald on the bottom of the pot. Nothing to worry about.
