Long story short, I am about to freeze my first yeast.

I streaked a plate (petri dish) with Pacman yeast straight from a smack pack last week. The plate has been at about 70 F ever since. I just placed a loop full of it in 20ml of 1.032 wort and am waiting for it to ferment out. After it ferments out, I plan on stepping it up to a 400 ml starter, than crash cooling it in the fridge and following the yeast bank wiki.

I plan on pouring most of the beer off the starter and then pouring the slurry into sterilized test tubes with about 1/3 glycerine.

Do other people just pour, or does there exist an autoclave-able pipette or baster?

Any other comments about my first freeze attempts?

Thanks!
