First time kegging...can i drink right away?

That depends on what you mean by right away. It takes some time for the beer to absorb the CO2.

If the beer is already cold, you can force carb at 30 PSI for 36-48 hours and it should be pretty close to ready to turn the pressure down for serving. If the beer isn't cold yet, it will take the full 48 hours or a little longer.
 
Taste it! It's ready when it tastes good, not to be overly obvious ... IMHO it tastes best after 2-4 weeks though this is for hoppy beers. My maltier ones taste fine within a week, but better in 3.
