first time growing SCOBYs...need an opinion pls:)

Hi,
Am growing two SCOBYs, they look very different, wondering if #2 is just a slow starter?...or should be tossed? The colour of the two starter teas in the jars is completely different as well?! They were both started on the 18th of this month. So currently on day 11.

The solid part is called a Pellicle.

Both look good. The one in the left is darker because there are less microbes in suspension.

PS. are "less microbes in suspension" a bad thing?...or, doesn't matter and doesn't affect anything?

It's not a bad thing. It probably means the yeast fermentation is finished.
