I am looking at doing my first partial grain and am wondering if what i have planned sounds reasonable.

2lbs 10.2oz Pilsner Liquid Extract
1lbs 5.1oz Dextrose malt extract
1lbs 5.1oz corn, flaked
2lbs 10.2 oz crystal 40
(Grains steeped for 75min @ 154f)

1.5oz chinnook @60
1.5oz Cascade @15
1.5oz chinnook @15
1.5oz Cascade @1to2

British Ale II(wyeast Labs#1335) Yeast

Plan on adding only partial of liquid extract until transferred to ferment.
(steeped for 75min @ 154f)

This won't work - flaked corn needs to be mashed with base malt, otherwise there will not be any diastatic power to convert starches to sugar. Crystal 40 you can steep by itself, but there would be no need to do it for 75 minutes. Also, 2 lbs of Crystal 40 is way too much - your beer will be cloyingly sweet because you'll have a quite large amount of unfermentable sugars.

I'm not sure what you mean by "adding only partial of liquid extract until transferred." You'll want to boil the extract for at least a few minutes towards the end of your boil just for sterilization purposes. Further, you'll need a decent amount of extract in the boil to make conditions ideal for hop utilization.

Speaking of hops, you're probably going to be in the vicinity of 100 IBUs given that hop bill. That's a very very hoppy beer - is that what you were going for?

I agree. Too much crystal, you need a base malt to mash the corn, and too much corn sugar (I think- I'm not sure what the "malt extract" after dextrose means). You don't have enough malt if that is a 5 gallon batch, and you have too many harsh hops with a too small OG.

I'd do something more like this:

8 lbs Pilsner Liquid Extract (5 pounds added near the end of the boil, 3 pounds in the boil)
1lbs corn, flaked
1 pound two row
1lb oz crystal 40

1 oz chinnook @60
1 oz Cascade @15
.5 oz chinnook @ 10
1 oz Cascade @ 1

I don't know where that came from but what I was looking for was thoughts on info on this.
(it could have been because it was 6am that I posted it...)

For this to be a partial mash, you need a base malt in there. Otherwise you're just steeping. As mentioned earlier, throw some 2-row in there and then it will be a partial mash. Also, I think you have too much crystal at almost 15%, but I am not particularly fond of beers that have more than about 5% crystal malt in them. To each their own.

OK, so here is a revision and I do sincerely thank everyone for their input. This may Never even be made I am doing two extract brews this week and getting grain and hops in this area is so costly that I don't know if it is going to happen anytime soon.
