First IPA

Well I have been brewing for a short amount of time like 6or 7 months and have enjoyed great beer over the past few years. I have always had some apprehension when I wanted to buy an IPA. So today I took the plunge and bought a sixer of Stone IPA and guess what...... I loved it. Well so here comes my question I would like to try some other IPAs that are on par with or better that Stone IPA some suggestions would be great. Also don't go saying so obscure IPA that can only be had in your part of the country like Heady Topper.

I'm a huge fan of dogfish head 60 min.......90 min is good too.

You're starting down a slippery slope, my friend...as soon as I got into IPA's they became all I drank for a while. Hops are addictive!!

Here are some pretty commonly available ones to check out:
-Bell's Two Hearted Ale
-Bear Republic Racer 5
-Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale (only available during winter...boo)
-Ballast Point Sculpin Ale
-Green Flash West Coast IPA

And some double/imperial IPA's:
-Stone Ruination IPA
-Dogfishhead 90 minute IPA
-Avery Maharaja

Also check out Lagunitas A Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale. It's a "pale wheat ale," but pretty hoppy and super delicious.

The HEB I go to has some good ones, but I'm not sure what you can get in Killeen. If you can get the same basic ones I can, try Hopus Moderandi, Lost Coast (from Real Ale), and some standards like Sam Adams Latitude. HEB also had Lagunitas (yum!), Green Flash, Racer 5, and Sierra Nevada Torpedo.

My absolute favorite IPA of all time is (512) Brewing's IPA, your close to Austin so it shouldn't be hard to find, but it's only available on tap, not sold in bottles. The IPA from St. Arnold is pretty good, and their Double IPA is even better. Real Ales IPA Lost Gold is hit or miss for me, quality control issues I think..... Also check out the IPA from Independence Brewing (Austin) it is quite good and available in bottles. Austin is the place in TX for craft beer, with at least 7 breweries you will find lots of options.
