After putting the recipe that I made in haste up to see what everyone thinks, it got me thinking and learning more. This recipe may not be the most bad a** out there, but to me it looks like something that I can understand and move forward with. I took from a bunch of recipes what I thought to be the most used ingredients and amounts and came up with this. Again please give me your thoughts and remember, I am still a beginner and there will be mistakes to be made, but that is the fun of this obession, uh-humm I mean hobby! Thanks again

This recipe only shows an OG of 1.042 with IBUs of 78.4 (Way out of balance) Here's a free recipe calculator to play around with. Shoot for ibus to match gravity EX: 1.062 OG with 62 ibus

Brew Builder gets a whole lot of gravity points from that priming sugar. Take it out an the OG drops form 1.078 to 1.043. You need to bump up the OG with more extract.

Briess Amber extract is 2-row, Munich and Crystal 60L. With a base of Amber extract you don't really need to add crystal 60L. The Pale Ale malt and flaked rye need to be mashed. Just steeping at 150F for an hour will work fine.

I'd move the 30 minute additions to 15 minutes to get more flavor. It will also bring the IBUs down.

No way will 5 oz corn sugar raise the gravity of five gallons 35 points. It's a bug. Hopville has fewer bugs. You need nearly five pounds of extract to do that.

If I take out the priming sugar, what would you suggest replacing it with?

Since it seemed a little unclear, they're not saying to not carb the beer (ick), just that the gravity is way out of whack with the priming sugar in that recipe calculator. Priming sugar just doesn't make that much of a contribution to gravity or abv.
