I brewed up my first batch since I quit brewing 15 or so years ago. I just put a batch of Caribou Slobber in my fermenter. Wish me luck and I will update you along the way. Just a 1 gallon batch to start with but have the equipment to do a 5 gallon run if I like it.

Primary: Caribou Slobber

That's about if for now.

It has been in ferment chamber for almost 24 hours now and fermentation is going well. Having heard many horror stories of 1 gallon batches fermenting too fast and blowing off the air lock, I started off with a blow off tube into a pitcher of sanitizing solution. So far nothing has entered the blow off tube and at about 48 hours if all is well I will put an airlock on it. Chamber is varying between 61 and 63 degrees and the thermometer on the fermentation jug is holding very steady at 64 degrees.

I was out of brewing for 16 years, and started again 2 years ago. I'm glad I got back into it, and I'm sure you will, too. Good luck. And read everything you can about brewing - a lot has changed in the last 16 years.
