Hello everyone
I was given 15lbs of 2 row as a gift..I do not have a scale..but i want to do a smash brew and see what happens..Should i just mash the whole 15lbs? I would like to get a moderate gravity nothing too high or too low like a 6-6.5 ABV beer.What kind of gravity should i expect from 15lbs of 2 row? thank you

my system is set up with 70% efficiency and 15 would give me about 1.075. just off the top of my head

What batch size you looking at with that. For a 5 gallon batch it will be pretty high gravity for 10 gallon, it will be on the low end.

15 pounds at 75% eff would get you in the neighborhood of 1.080, which is probably a bit more than you want. YOu could always turn it into a 6 gallon batch, though!

I am gonna do i 5 gallon batch..i quess i should just go grab a scale ..thanks for you input

If you are pretty sure about the 15 lbs then just use a big scoop to measure the volume in scoops. Then do a bit of math to figure how many scoops you need for 10 or 12 lbs. Before I got a scale I used that and I think you can get close enough.
