Hey guys, I am trying to convert an AG to a partial mash of a Green Flash IPA clone that i found. This is my first time doing this so i would like to verify that this looks correct.
I plan to follow the original recipe and hop schedule after conversion. Here is the original recipe:
12 LBS American 2-Row Malt
2 LBS Maris Otter Malt
1 LB Carastan Malt 30L (English Crystal) Guaranteed that GF uses it!
.25 Victory or Biscuit Malt
.5 Carapils Malt
.5 Wheat Malt Malt
1 oz Warrior (15.5AA) @ 90m
.5 oz Simcoe (11.9AA) @ 45m
.5 oz Centennial (9.1AA) @ 30m
1 oz Cascade (6.3AA) @ 0m (Flameout) Steep for 5 minutes before rapid chilling
.5 oz Simcoe (11.9 AA) @ 0m (Flameout) Steep for 5 minutes before rapid chilling
1 oz Columbus (12.2AA) Dry Hop in Secondary for 48 hours at 65F
1 oz Centennial (9.1AA) Dry Hop in Secondary for 48 hours at 65F
.5 oz Simcoe (11.9AA) Dry Hop in Secondary for 48 hours at 65F
I believe the only grain i will convert to extract is the 12lbs of American 2-Row Malt. 0.75lbs (LME) of 12lbs (grain) gives me 9lbs. The extract comes in 3.3lb cans so i will end up with 6.6lbs of domestic liquid extract and (2.4lbs x .89lbs) 2.14 lbs of light DME.
How does this look? Should i convert any of the other grains?
Thanks!
