Did my first All grain brew today. All round I feel it was fairly successful. I had a go at the westmalle tipel. So far so good. I just did a half batch as I have crap all gear and this way if i balls it up it wont be too much ingredients down the drain.

Though... as i said it seemed to have gone alright. Mash efficiency was low (65%) but thats what i guessed it would be at so compensated. Hit my post boil OG of 1.081 right on the head. My starter was having a freakin orgy by the time it got chucked in at 18 degrees C. Its now 7 hours later and already bubbling away nicely in the swamp cooler.

Now just to get the yeasties to keep working all the way to the target FG...
 
Awesome! That sounds much better than my first AG- I assumed I would get 75% and I think I hit 50'something. Oops.
