Does the percentage of color/flavor grains go up as batch size does? I doubled what I usually use in my Amber, but the beer came out a caramel color. Most amber recipes I have seen use from 1-2lbs of crystal/cara__ per 5 gallons. Yet, building the amber in beersmith for 22 gallons, it has me up at 10-12 lbs to get desired color? What gives? I guess I'll use the Gordon Strong method to add more color in today.
