Does the percentage of color/flavor grains go up as batch size does? I doubled what I usually use in my Amber, but the beer came out a caramel color. Most amber recipes I have seen use from 1-2lbs of crystal/cara__ per 5 gallons. Yet, building the amber in beersmith for 22 gallons, it has me up at 10-12 lbs to get desired color? What gives? I guess I'll use the Gordon Strong method to add more color in today.

The grain percentages should be constant as you increase batch size.
Perhaps you get more color contribution from kettle caramelization with a smaller kettle / batch? Idk
