I'm looking to try and DIY some flavored finishing salts. Anyone out there have any success with that kind of thing?

all tips, tricks, and warnings welcome!

smoked salt is a pretty good thing.
just put it in a mesh strainer and hit with cold smoke for and hour or two.
a bit coarser grind helps for this.

that i've done several times.

i'm looking more for the big flat flakes that you would sprinkle over a nice steak or a fresh garden tomato.

Check out Savory website. More seasonings of all types. Moderately expensive, exceptional quality. My favorite finishing salt is their Fleur de Sal, though they have a sampler of 8 or so varieties in smaller bottles, including a very nice truffle salt as well as a couple different smoked salts.
