I am finally building my keezer for my bar in the basement. The plan is to run taps in the wall and keep the keezer on the unfinished side of the basement.
The biggest pain in the ass of this build so far was getting the deep freezer ordered and delivered without being damaged. The first one I got from Walmart arrived banged up. Apparently it was the last one they had so I ended up buying a slightly larger one from Sears. A Kenmore 8.8 cu ft model.
So I built the collar using 2”x6” for the interior base and 1”x8” pine to go around it. I wanted to go with a gray stain. I put down camper seal between the freezer and the collar.
Then I cut 1” foam board to fit snugly inside and used aluminum tape to cover it.
I’m getting ready to build the box in the wall that will house the 4 taps.
