Irrelevant to how supply and dsmand works.
So is the argument here that beer should be priced at the market clearing price? (I.e, secondary market price)

I've got two jobs and enough disposable income to see a grand disappear every few weeks without problem. How about goose prices all bcbs at a grand a bottle and see who really wants to play
Or how about you gain a backbone and stop sucking their dick. Just cause you can support it; doesn't mean you should . Pussy

Some folks asking nearly $400 for a bottle of BCS Uncommon.
I hate beer.
Owen & Engine managed the black bun for their halloween burger - I'm sure you could do it, too!I'm sure I can put one together, but it won't be in mint condition: Three month old patty, foie gras that fell behind the refrigerator...
I didn't mean this weekend. I am probably going to come in tomorrow and try to get someone to make me a fuffernutter chicken sammy with that jalapeno fluff you have this week.I'm sure I can put one together, but it won't be in mint condition: Three month old patty, foie gras that fell behind the refrigerator...
Rare BCBS: this was the first pour walking in. It was exquisite. Tons of barrel, great chocolate and roast, mild tannic notes and not too hot. I had side by side with regular and it wasn't even close. Rare in a landslide.

This doesn't fit the narrative. Can't be true.
Obviously trying to trade his bottles. I see right through you, Ryan.
Are any of the fruit ones good out the gate? I never like them at less than a year.Complete Rare Day Session A Rundown that no one cares about.
It took me and a buddy about 30 minutes to run through and get bottles. Smoothest release I've been to in a long time. Didn't wait long for a shuttle to come pick us up and drop us off at the barrel warehouse. Wait about an hour+ to get in to the party. Merch line was a joke. They had one phone with a Square at the start which was hilarious. Paid cash and left. Credit line was over an hour. Drank copious amounts of all variants from 2015 and 2014.
Beer rundown:

Regal Rye: slightly tart fruit with a little base BCBS showing through. Luxardo cherries are the main showcase. It's good, but I'd put it behind both Bramble and Backyard.
Prop '15: I talked with a lot of people and each of us had a different experience with this beer. Granted all pours of the beer came from a pre-poured pitcher so I can see some variance. My pour was a nice pepper flavor and very mild heat up front followed by slight maple and a heavy does of pecan/nutty sweetness on the finish. It was good, but it's my least favorite of the Props so far.
Barleywine '15: very similar to how the '14 BCBBW is drinking right now. Better out the gate with a nice barrel presence with some faint chocolate notes.
Regular: My least favorite of everything 2015 and worst regular I've had to date. It seemed that the blending got the best of the Brewers and overall it turned into a slightly above average BA stout. Mostly barrel and oak notes. Slight bitterness with mild chocolate. Nothing crazy here. I is disappoint.
Overall the event was run pretty well outside of a few hiccups. I'd gladly attend against and it was worth the cost of entry.
Are you sure you don't need $400 for anything?I wish this were true, but zero of my bottles are going out besides one to my only regular trade partner. It really is that good. Sharing both the remaining bottles I currently have.

This is extra funny because your avatar matches your name matches your gif. Some retailers are joining the frenzy too (SMH). Just stopped by Danny's Super Low Liquors on Western and Fullerton. They are selling 2011 BCBS 4pks for $100 and 2012 BCBS 4pks for $60 (or you can buy 1 bottle for $15).
I said too rich for my blood...

Reg is not so great? But I want it to be great. Reg all I'll probably scoop. Boycotting variants and stuff. (Boycotting = no energy to chase )
Full disclosure: I'm just saying this year's regular was my least favorite of what I tried at the party under those circumstances. I'm not saying it was bad by any stretch of the imagination. I probably hold regular BCBS to a higher standard than most people since I consider it the pinnacle of BA stouts. I will still be going after it and purchasing as much as I can.
Best takeaway from Rare Day. Just so much going on here.
