FYI, if there's $200 of "pre-Rare, pre-BCBCS" money burning a hole in your pocket, there were 2 bottles of SA Utopias on the shelf at Binnys LP yesterday at 5.

What do you all think is the best keg value in town (quality per $)? 1/6 barrel of Fist City for $80 from Revolution seems pretty solid.

If you happen to be going by Dark Horse (not "in town", but I pss that way a lot) you can get things like Crooked Tree as low as $60 if I recall correctly. That blew my mind.

that **** wouldnt fly if vav was still there. vav you got your black friday plans laid out yet?

***RECALL***

We have discovered an issue with Mrs. O'Leary's Chocolate Milk Stout batch #307. The beer is continuing to ferment in the bottle and could explode. Furthermore, to be on the safe side, we would like to recall the following beers as well:

Couch Funding Cherry Stout #234
God Damn Raspberry Pigeon Porter #255
God Damn Coffee Pigeon Porter #259
God Damn Peanut Butter Porter #267
God Damn Peanut Butter and Jelly Porter #315
G.F.Y. Stout #320

How are they still bottling? It seems like all I hear about is exploding bottles and recalls from Spiteful. If your consistency is this bad you need to stop what your doing and figure something else out, because their obviously doing it wrong.

Re: Malort BA BCBS - This idea was originally pitched over and over by Julia Davis (former GI brewer now at Lagunitas) and was turned down time and time again. She'd been working on Malort BA'd beer as a homebrewer for a few years before working at Goose...actually, she was working on this as far back as a homebrewer in 2009 before she went Pro. Process was take a small spent barrel (like in the make your own whiskey kits) OR oak chips and soak with Malort, then age the beer on it. I've had at least 4 of her Malort based experiments, but sadly never tried Malort BCBS.

Re: Rev's Hero Series in Cans: It's true. The artwork is awesome too.

Re: Utopias - Meh, there were a few left in the cellar from various years going back to 2007. All come packaged like that for shipping in the cases. Those could be new vintage too, i dunno, i'm pretty out of the loop.

Re: Black Friday plans - I dunno honestly. I actually have those days off for the first time in 7 or so years. Part of me kinda wants to drive to Chicago and feel weird about it all. Most of me wants to sleep in. Considering my brewery is in Waunakee, Tooch4321 i'm interested in details for sure.

You should go to Clybourn on Black Friday and cast a shadow over things. Awkwardness is ******* funny.

The black saison aged with malort was actually really unique and tasty, as was the Casmir homebrew version. Glad that trickytunadicky shared those at a tasting a few years back.

vav - you should grow out a beard, throw a bunch of dirt on a hoodie, start mumbling to yourself and hand out like chuckie cheese tickets to people in line.

'dude, didn't that guy used to work here? '
--ya he went crazy, he lives behind the binnys. he thinks everyday is black friday and he hands out these tickets. just take the ticket, say thank you and dont make eye contact.

True story, i got thrown out of a Chuck E Cheese's once in Fairfax, VA because i wandered in looking for a friend forgetting i was wearing my <PIG> tour shirt, featuring the friendly phrase FIND IT **** IT FORGET IT in giant yellow letters on the back.

I felt kinda bad about it to be honest, but it makes a hell of a story now, especially since i ate acid with John Waters a few days later.

It was a pretty good summer, is what i'm sayin'

i've had that saison too, it was about as good as i think a malort beer could be.

edit: this is a compliment, in case that wasn't clear

I was talked into buying a "**** The World" tshirt with mortimer mouse and an AK47 at 08 DLD. Still unsure where I can wear said shirt. Maybe to your brewery?
