Are people thinking it will be worth more? So confused.

I don't buy it so it doesn't effect me but hearing the news it does seem like a regression in this age of beer. So, they're releasing Gumball Head in 22oz bottles only at the brewpub, people go nuts, but most probably don't remember it's been in 22s before when it was a seasonal release...

According to the myriad Untappd check ins, it looks like a bunch of vintage BCBS bottles were popped last night at Goose Island. Anyone know the story or what the event was?
They should have gone full-novelty with it and filled 40s of Gumball Head...

I wonder how much money GI lost on the Sisters this year. I have a hard time believing on premise accounts were psyched to buy these, only to sell them for $50+ to make their money back (and would anyone actually pay that much at a restaurant for these bottles?).
Hopefully the Goose booth at FOBAB will let people drink their way through the sisters without waiting in the BCS line again.I really like the sisters, but not at those price points. Understand that it's not cheap to make them by any stretch, but I wish they would consider throwing them into their stupid 16.9 oz BCS bottles and leave the previous 12 oz and 22 oz BCS format alone.
I don't understand why anyone would buy this. Want 22oz of Gumballhead in one sitting?? Open 1/3 of a 6pack!!!
Sounds like Paddy Long's finally did it. They've got a cask of Malort BA Dark Lord serving between FOBAB sessions per the Beer Temple Insiders Roundtable Podcast. Hilarious. Good for them.

Wasn't it me in 2010? I recall mentioning it in every monthly BA thread about dream BCS variants.A person I know entirely from the internet spent years trying to get GI to do that.
From what I heard, they did something similar last year, only with previously aged BCBS. A person I know entirely from the internet spent years trying to get GI to do that. I don't know how, um, "approved" last year's experiment was, but word is that it wasn't completely awful.
Lunar did a Malort BA'd beer a few years ago at FOBAB that was undrinkable.

I thought Jeppson's killed the deal somehow. They wanted an actual bottled release which is impossible with the amount they had and GI's footprint/distribution. Of course, the guy who 'took it over' is often even more drunk than I.I wonder if we know the same person (used to work at Goose and now works at Lagunitas?)
I do know that the project I'm referencing was taken over by another friend in the industry who works at Goose, but I haven't heard any updates regarding it.
I also know that a local bar owner was one of 15 (?) ish people who received bottles of Barrel Aged Malort from Jeppsons as a thank you for putting it on draft. So "real" barrel aged Malort does exist out there, which scarily means that "real" Malort barrels are out there as well. The prospect is terrifying.
Yeah he said they took Nightstalker and threw it in the barrel themselves, so completely unsanctioned for funsies.

Also, this makes me think of Revolution's approach where they are running away from 22oz's as fast as possible since their system is ridiculously inefficient. In case it hasn't been mentioned yet, the Hero series is coming to cans next year.

It should be all I hoped and more, and yet Paddy Longs is everything I hate about beer and bacon.Gumballhead in 16oz tallboy cans would be a killer beer packaging option.
trickytunadicky this is relevant to your interests.
