The new cheese curds are a contender for best in the region as well (behind Bad Apple and the undisputed winner Glarner Stube)

Believe it or not, they use to be better there. Included fried pickle chips and a better dipping aioli too.
Once Jan. 1st hits, I'll be saying "The curds were better last year guys"

The new batch of Anicca is fantastic as well for what its worth. Also was about 4 new beers on at the brewpub that I hadn't tried before when I went on Sunday (Oh My Takeiii, Munster Southern Brown, Skull Ole and one more I'm forgetting). The new cheese curds are a contender for best in the region as well (behind Bad Apple and the undisputed winner Glarner Stube).

Anybody test out those 3 different barrel treatments of Presque yet from Transient? Didn't know if there was a specific one I should fridge for long weekend consumption.

Apple Brandy >>>>> Whiskey > Wine

ISO more AB. One of the best beers I've had all year.

I did Wild Turkey Betise and Presque Whiskey SBS. Betise had a nicer tartness and more barrel. Nose was similar on both.

I enjoyed the AB Presque more than Whiskey as well. Every sip brought something different and it had a really great spiciness to combat the tartness. This was after 4 bottles of lambic though, so YMMV.

I disagree. The tartness and barrel were much nicer on the Presque Whiskey, and the nose on the Betise was a bouquet to quaff compared with the Presque.

I had to re-up on my safety certs last week. Work at an oil refinery.

Had a guy in my class (maybe 50) grab me and ask about "the dark lord beer" because I had a FFF hood on. Proceeded to tell me how much ZD he drank a week and didn't care about any other beer.

It has seriously permeated all layers of society.

People of the Chicagoland area. A friend of mine was looking into buying a property in the West Humboldt Park area and opening a bar of some sort. I would like to ask you fine people a few questions....

1. Is the area nice?
2. Would you go to a bar there? Why not?
3. Are there a lot of bars already in the area?
4. Would you wait inline 6 hours in the area for a beer release?

Is it actually West Humboldt or is it East Garfield?

There are a couple of good places around California and Augusta. Depending on how south and east the property, it may not be a place I would visit.

West Humboldt is not really a hotbed of anything hip except for a couple of popular Mexican joints.

The area isn't great, but it could be worse.

Yeah, Elmhurst is a suburb... and 47th st would be on the Southside somewhere if in the city. Sounds like there was some sort of communication issue.
