I have a hard time believing Sweetwater is "often-requested". Binny's knows they can just say **** like this and Chicagoland dopes will flock to it.

Sweetwater makes some good hoppy options--if you can get their IPA fresh it's a real nice grapefruit bomb. Their Dank Tank series is usually above average. Their bombers are well priced in the $6-10 range as well (unless we get screwed over by the distributor).

Also, Sweetwater is all over the south east and fairly well known, so it may actually be requested at Binny's by transplants from those states.

I do like Sweetwater IPA fresh. It's actually pretty tasty when I'm on vacation in the South (limited options really), but I can't see myself picking this over any IPA available here which bums me out.

Alright having read through the fun thread here, let me step in for a moment to talk a bit about CCBE.

As a relatively new mod of CCBE, let me say first and foremost (and other mods can attest) that I have attempted to "right the ship" by purging the trolls out of CCBE and getting it realigned with something a lot more palatable to folks in the group. The fact remains that there are a lot of changes that need to be undertaken to make CCBE anything less than the shitstorm that it is on any given day. I cannot count how much time I've spent taking care of issues (and I do not want to think about it, really) that most of you don't see unless you're following CCBE on Twitch or something, in an attempt to steer things back to being somewhat useful or helpful.

So what does this all mean? This means that nearly everyone here, who have been in this hobby for as long (and many longer) than I have, can help by doing what you can to help educate these "kids" in a way that is both productive and doesn't "feed" the trolls that are pervasive and derail many otherwise legitimate conversations on CCBE. I have attempted countless times (to no avail) to help educate folks who have since been booted from CCBE/CBE in an attempt to stop problems from starting.

Going forward, we (the mods) can't make the group anything more than what the community wants to make of it, but we can certainly take suggestions and feed off the great folks that you are and the knowledge that we all have in an attempt to make it more useful or at least somewhat palatable instead of forcing us to 'Hide' the group from your Newsfeed because, let's be honest, the crap that's on CCBE is sometimes (most of the time?) unbearable to follow.

Tl;dr: We're trying our best to "fix" CCBE. Help us however you feel like you can.

That's my problem as well. I tried in the beginning, but this New Breed/New Money doesn't want to hear any of it. They think they are the end all be all of Chicago Craft Beer since they took a beer school lesson at GI Clybourn once and took a tour of Finch's so they know how a brewery works.
