Grand Ave limits = 4-pack of each, one bomber of each. So glad I didn't stay at Lincoln Park.
Yeah, this is the best-kept secret in the city. Went last year, there was no line, awesome. Was going to go again this year, but between the weather, the need to drive back to the city from the suburbs last night, and general disillusion with the price increase/variants, I decided to get to AH Binnys at 7:40 instead. Got a 4-pack and the Props. You know, for dat "trade value"

Got to Algonquin at 7, was about #60 in line. Only got a single reg and single BW. Here's the line at 8:50...

This WAS the best kept secret last year. Not anymore, line was deep. As with every other place!

Went to a small place in Mundelein, got there at 8:40 for a 9am open. Got a single bottle of each, but bombers were $34.99. Kinda pissed but I guess it's my fault for not asking.

Jewel on Milwaukee and Ashland had no case limit on regular. Saw two guys walk out with 4 cases between them (maybe just the empty boxes? Naaahhhh).

Bucktown Walgreens wasn't the worst. No one in line at 9am - started selling my 10/10:15. Not sure what will happen between Noon and 2pm now. Somehow, a bunch of their stock was sold at midnight last night so limit was 2 4-packs regular, 1 variant (4-pack or bomber). Went with Prop - kind of kicking myself for not getting Coffee. Prices were decent - $24.99 across the board.

Saw one guy get called out for cutting in line - made it worth it. For the most part.

Mind if I ask what shop? I really don't want to pay that but it's probably my best shot today.

Waited 2 hours at Downers Grove Binny's. 70 or so ahead of me when I showed up. Only 4-pack of regular when we got to the front. Passed on the $27 price. Bought a 6-pack of Brown Shugga instead. Zero ragrets!

Actually tons of regrets, should have gone to Grand :(
Got to meet Lognar in line so was quasi worth it walking away with nothing...

Binnys Grand Ave is surprisingly tame. Saw the line at Lincoln Park and got the hell out of there. Thanks for the advice, Dan!
Im gurssing you could have shown ip at 630-645 at grand and still made it for a prop + vanilla. Probably needed 530 or so go4 coffee & bw

In related news, I guess I have more money to spend at Transient on Sunday.
In other news I have so much more money than I thought I would! Thanks Chicago for being the worst place to try and buy a Chicago beer. Buddy that just moved out to CO got more Bourbon County than I did this morning :(

I arrived at grand around 6:40 and left with regular and prop. The last vanilla went a few people ahead of me. Coffee sold out first (I think I counted 3 cases) and then barleywine (maybe 5 or so cases).

Definitely glad I went to Grand and not somewhere else, but it wasn't the full allotment arriving by 7:30 like it was last year.
Prop makes me happy though.

beer temple handled that release about as well as he could possibly have. allocation was 4 pack of 2014 regular plus one of (2x 12oz OR 1x 22oz) with cellared bottles included in the latter. arrived around 9:40ish and was approx #70 in line. wife and i wound up with 2 four packs of regular, 2 bottles of 2014 barleywine and 2 bottles of 2014 coffee between us, plus i got a 750 of tilquin squared so that's one less trip i have to make.

I'm back in KY for the holidays and got a 4 pack. Sounds like I'd end up with the same if I was back in Chicago. I'm happy with it.

Did Binny's Skokie, it was chill enough. Walked out with prop and barleywine. Best part of my morning was walking out of a liquor store that didn't have bcs yet with a Tilquin OG 750 and an Allagash Farm to Face. Now laying in bed with all my winter gear on trying to forget this morning.

Same here from Skokie Binny's, plus 4-pack regular - were you in front of me? Green coat, glasses with transition lenses? Group of 4 guys with no mules talking?

Nice - if the store you stopped at without BCS yet was La Primera - I was there around 11:15, looked like they got a case of BW and a case of coffee plus some regular. There were only 2 dudes there as the owner was signing the invoice from the driver - the 2 dudes each had a 4-pack of reg, BW, and coffee on the counter, and the owner said all he could give me was a regular 4-pack, so maybe the rest was held for friends/family/list or will be singles later. Just FYI.

I was brown coat/purple hat/Starbucks dude, BTW.

I'm about to head to the NW burbs in a bit, any sightings from Chicago to Schaumburg?I called Streamwood Sam's club but they said no Dice.
