People are going apeshit over this this clue in the CCBE Facebook group.

In a place of Ancestry, I am quiet but lek in the majestic. With support from my friends, my story stands tall and knows no end. Theirs tells of flowers, while mine gives hints of Rococo, and what is sought behind the sign.

They hid it at Hill Farmstead?

It's actually the name of their new collaboration with Tired Hands. Look out for ISO: IAPOAIAQBLITMWSFMFMSSTAKNETTOFWMGHORAWISBTS FT: crap that won't get it done on the trade boards soon.

This... seems pricey, even if it is all you can drink whiskey:

I just popped my BiaB cherry and placed an order for a big ol 30kg box. For you guys around Chicago that has done this many times, have you ever encountered any issues with it getting to you? Do I need to be prepared for anything regarding customs or any other ****? What delivery service does Kurt use once it gets to the States?

You'll be fine. He will resend the bottles if the box gets snatched.

Any idea on the pricing?
I wasn't too far off! Except for the rye -- that's seems like quite a premium. Via fb:
#785 - 11 Year Bourbon (750ml/$118.99)
#803 - 11 Year Bourbon (750ml/$118.99)
#156 - 8 Year Rye (750ml/$108.49)
There is a limit of one bottle each per person.

Regular Blot Out The Sun now at the FFF brewpub. $15 bomber. Limit 2.

Bottled 8/1?

Hey everyone - does anyone recall when Goose Island Bourbon County tasting tickets go on sale for their black Friday event? Have they already gone on sale? I'll be in the Chi and would like to hit this event up this year. Also, does anyone recall what time Binny's opens? I remember they hand out tickets at like 7am or 8am, but I don't remember what time they start their sale (maybe 10). Thx.

Nothing yet for a Black Friday event. Binny's will open at 9 am.

Bourbon County is gonna be awful this year, you really won't want any.

**** beer.
Don't hate homie. I rented a uhaul for the mules to sleep in so that they can be first in line. I'll hook it up with a couple space heaters from the Best Buy as well. I keep my mules nice and warm. Last year, after showed up about 8 and cut the line, I even gave one of them a sip of my free sample of intelligentsia coffee.

A guy from NY with an Ohio State avatar talking about Bourbon County mules. I don't think I could possible hate you any more than I do.

No jimmies rustled though.

Hey bud - no need to get your jimmies rustled. I'm actually originally from Chicago, not New York, so take it easy on me. I don't mind sharing either. I'll bring some good stuff from the east coast and we can drink some beers after Binnys/GI or on Saturday (but not during the Buckeye beat down of Michigan). Don't worry about the mules either, they won't be allowed to attend and drink.

SmallBar on Division is shutting down (via):
After ten great years helping blaze the Craft Beer Trail here in Chicago and helping build West Division Street into a real destination, SmallBar Division will close and be sold in mid-November.

Our last day operating will be Thursday, November 13.

We are committed to going out with a bang. We hope that those of you who have long enjoyed what we do here and the way that we do it will stop back in for a few last rounds and meals.

We’ll continue to pour the best American Craft Beer we can get our hands on and offer outstanding Scratch Food from our kitchen and Chef Justin White. And we’ll likely be doing some specials over the coming weeks to allow you to enjoy the last of our Featured Bottle cellar and specialty kegs long-stored.

So we do hope you enjoy it all with us while you can!
There's also a lengthy interview here: http://goodbeerhunting.com/blog/201...king-with-phil-mcfarland-of-smallbar-division
Personally, I won't be that sad to see it go. I think ditching the soccer angle was a mistake (not because I love soccer but because it was an identity and it was a difference). I also think the new chef was a mistake - we have so many ******* fancy bar food/good beer bars already. We didn't need another one (and one that was as pricey as SmallBar became). I went there for a damn crispy buffalo chicken sandwich with tater tots and great beer -- and when two out of the three disappeared, I didn't exactly mind.

That seems odd

agree initially, but when you read the good beer hunting interview it makes a lot of sense. the need for stability combined with everyone in the universe raising their craft game made smallbar no longer stand out, especially on a strip full of craft bars and restaurants. some great stuff in that interview, including a not surprising "there's way too much beer out there and we're not going to ditch those who have helped us for the new flavour of the week".

FFF released Conquistador de Meurte today, $35 a bottle. 586 bottles. Everybody freak out at the price, why they aren't releasing it for the 9-5 crew and also make sure to ask several times how long it's going to last.

If anyone is there today and could get me one, I'll send money/beer/ZJs. I have meetings at work until late and my brother is sick and is having a baby and lost his job and his name is Conquistador.
