Didn't Shelton Pull all their stuff from Chicagoland last fall? I don't think I've seen a new shipment of any of these beers since last summer/fall. This sucks, this list brings so much more gravity to the situation.
Newer Jolly Pumpkin has hit in the last few months (Biere De Mars, small bottles of Oro), so not all Shelton's has been unavailable, but I think a lot had dried up. I haven't seen a new Prairie beer on the shelf since November.

JP is working direct with Lakeshore, which is why we're seeing the new format bottles.

Guys! It was a typo! Space Station Middle Finger should only be $8 a bottle. All better, right?

Also, I daresay there's a 100%, straight-up useful thread on BA right now about the Shelton Bros. pulling all of their brands out of Illinois. Chris, owner of the Beer Temple, put together a list:

Not that I ever enjoyed paying Shelton Bros. prices for beers, but some of these were worthwhile, every now and then.

vav joined us. Can we get Quinnsi (Chris Quinn) too? Perhaps via an AMA?

Where does this latest rumor come from? You realize Jeff Smith is a different person, right?

The Jeffs:

pukelman quite enjoyed Haymarket on Saturday.

Different strokes, man.

Sorry if this is a bit late but I did really enjoy the haymarket event and CCBW as a whole. I'm coming from an outsider's experience and don't really know what distribution is like throughout the year, but there were a lot of cool events while I was in town and the lack of enthusiasm meant smaller crowds.

The haymarket event was a little crowded but the back bar wasn't so bad and I was able to get a seat right away. All of the FW beers were at the front bar and although it was slightly crowded, I was able to get pours pretty easily. Also, they offered three different sized pours of every beer on draft so I was able to try a bunch of FW and house beers without getting completely hammered. Their Simcoe double IPA was really good.

The lambic/sour event at Delilah's was beyond ridiculous and the maproom had some cool stuff on while I was in town including CW16. Being able to drink that with a small crowd and no hassle was awesome! The Fountainhead waves of craft was really cool because I got to try a bunch of great beers not usually available to me. The draft list at Local Option for their day after event speaks for itself. Amazing!

I have no access to FFF except trading and again, got to try a bunch of their beers without any hassle/crowd fighting.

I agree with Frank, the BA Atlas beers were interesting. The pumpkin one was weird but the old sugar rum barrel intemporelle was very good.

Deep dish pizza is weird.

Don't think Chris knows about TalkBeer. I mentioned it about a month ago, and said he didn't know of it. Would like to see his uncensored rants though.

Speaking of Chicago Beer Media....

Anyone listen to the 2nd to latest beer download pod cast?

It was the Happening Hair and a very special loon edition.

You see the Calabaza Boreal around?

I don't know, I just repeat everything I hear on the internet bc it's true

I've seen at least 2 places now on twitter mention that they got a shipment of Lost Abbey Track #8 in today. Didn't know that was hitting distro. Good luck and enjoy for those hunting it down. Beer Temple and one of the north shore Binny's were the ones I saw that tweeted it out.

Seeing suburban Binny's post about it in stock now too. Did they re-brew it or just have excess old bottles?
Any opinions on it?

What's the cost on that? If this was one of the ones they had at FOBAB two (?) years ago then I thought it was pretty solid, but I'm not paying $17.99 for it.

Haven't seen any prices myself but I'd guess around $18 like Older Viscocity.
Maybe FFF will offer pours of it for $5 too? I swear OV was on there for months last year

Oh, I definitely remember that. Cheap pours at the pub: the fate of all kegs sent to DLD that nobody is interested in paying for.

For those of you at kegs for kidneys. Yes or no. Transient Berliner Weiss The perfect amount sour with the right amount of funk. Right or wrong, **** all the big boys, my highlight for the night. Opinions?

Was it just his standard or a variation. I tried a few of his berliners at One Trick the day before DLD and they were all mighty tasty.

I haven't had the Berliner yet but really enjoyed the few I have had enough to join his society. Really looking forward to the upcoming bottles.

How was the oud bruin? That is gonna end up being a society beer and I'm mighty interested in it.

Oud Bruin was top notch. Chris the brewer said it was barrel aged for 3 months. That society membership looks mighy tempting as well. Not a bad deal either considering how much I like the 2 I tried. Village Tap has 3 of his beers on tap Americain, Locaux, Maigre. Heading up there in a bit to try the 2 I haven't had.

Is there a link for Transients society?
Yeah I think it's a pretty good deal with all that's included. He mentioned in a members email that it was close to the max capacity so make sure to submit soon if interested.

Edit: Chris' communication over email or fb has been great since he started last year. If you want to know who's pouring his beers just email or hit him up on fb and he usually gets back pretty quickly. One Trick always has two of his on as well.
