Revolution update (via fb):

Something special for this dreary Friday: We're pouring Boy Gene at the brewpub and tap room today. This is a very limited, special brew -- our robust Eugene Porter aged in Woodford Reserve barrels for six months with boysenberry purée. Really nice, dark fruit flavors come through.

Also, save the date for 12/6, when we'll do a "Genealogy" party to release bottles of Mean Gene and Bean Gene, as well as introduce some other new members of the Gene family. Stay tuned for details.

Heyoka is a western charged firecracker. We conjured the classics in Chinook and Amarillo then laid them on a bed of pale malt. This India Pale Ale shoots straight to the bitter edge before falling into a mellow haze. Deep gold, 7% ABV and ready to travel into the distance. The Heyoka resides in the opposite and is said to use the wind as sticks to beat the drum of thunder.

Dear FIBers, I recently heard of a beverage from pipeworks called "Hey, Careful Man, There's a Beverage Here". What was the bottle count and is this still floating around for trade?

I talked to one of the brewers behind Rude Boy Brewing yesterday (http://rudeboybeer.com/ -- no real content, it just takes you to their fb page). I haven't heard anything about them but it sounds like they are aiming for everything to be sour and/or barrel-aged. Their launch beers are a vanilla bean milk stout, an IPA, a peach berliner and... something else. Anyway, what is perhaps most intriguing is that he plans to sell his beer in 6-packs of tallboy cans with an MSRP of $9.99. Look for these monster 6-packs in January or February.

Have you had any of their offerings?

I have not. The brewer, Emil, was saying that Saturday was their first real brew day and they were brewing batches of their launch beers for sales reps. I believe he came from Lake Effect Brewing previously -- also a brewery that I haven't paid any attention to.

I had some blueberry sour of theirs at BeerFX's FoBAB film screening a year ago. It was okay. Then again, when there is all of can drink Fertile Crescent and Even More Evil, everything else kind of becomes just okay.

Thanks for the information. I'm just hoping their beers are above average since that 6 packs of tall boys for $9.99 would be one of the best deals in beer. Hopefully these make it into the mix a six racks at Binny's.
