I've liked all the Logsdon I've had- especially the spectacular Peche 'n Brett- but this feels like another regional brewery coming to the area, getting people excited for a month, and then having stuff sit on shelves. Maybe the "farmhouse" focus means these appeal more to the nerdier types but I'm betting in 6 months most of this will sit like the once-quick-moving Boulevard Smokestack stuff. Remember how quick BBQ would fly off the shelves 2 years ago? Remember how LC3 went in like a week? The nerds get pumped, tick it, and move on. I don't see a lot of people going back and buying multiple Seizoen Bretta. Just more **** on the shelf...

And speaking of, I like Seizoen Bretta, but Saison Brett is a better beer.

Will buy all of the Oak Bretta, Cerasus, Wit, ......who the Hell am I kidding I'll buy every bottle. Logsdon da real MVP.

Anyone get lucky and grab a Framboos today? Did it roll out anywhere but Bottles & Cans?

it popped up briefly on fischman's beermenus page. i assume it's long gone.
Looked it up on Beermenus for ***** & giggles.

vav would you be OK if the slightly older guard used the phrase #proptraderz or #hunterwhalerz or #dolphindriverz instead of #newmoney ?

Edit - Or #mobiustripperz

i will now use #dolphindriverz to discribe the newer sort who simply buy because"its limited" and ask how something is tasting rather than trying it out for themselves and formulating an opinion.

They don't care how it tastes, they'll take a pic of it still on the shelf and ask what they can trade it for before they'll even deign to touch it.

Everyone starts somewhere man. Are you honestly going to sit there and tell me that you never bought up a whole shelf of beer purely for its value and not because you wanted it? Are you trying to play like you haven't chased a truck from store to store, cursing at every clerk who wouldn't sell you a whole case? Do you think we believe you if you say you didn't start out by only drinking the hypiest of hyped beers once they were confirmed delicious valuable on Facebook?

Be an advocate, not a hater.

Poe's Law at its finest right here.

Ok, thoughts on #newmoney. I posted this on CCBE before and I think I posted the the screen shots here. So ignore if old news, but it's why I don't think #newmoney is wrong to use:

"I think every person new to craft beer and trading goes through a process. First is understanding the beers and how they are released. Second is buying anything and everything that is "limited" cuz you may like it, or you will 100% be able to trade it for something you know you do like, or at the very least you can sell it for a couple bucks more than you paid, I mean THIS BEER IS WORTH MORE THAN WHAT I PAID FOR IT!!! (Yes, everyone goes through this stage. I did.) Third and final stage is realizing you can't maintain stage two and you understand that you don't really have to try EVERY beer. And in fact there are a handful of beers you would actually prefer to drink instead of all the other new crazy stuff.

So the problem is that it is taking people longer and longer to get from stage two to stage three. And the fact that more people are joining this hobby daily, so more people are in stage one or two. Some never leave stage two. We call these people #newmoney."

Stage 3 is so boring though. My cellar isn't nowhere near what it was 3 years ago :(

People should stop attempting to define or quantify New Money. It's like pornography. You know it when you see it.

8 pm the night before at Dark Horse, falling out by 11 pm and puking = New Money
Lined up hours before a Hunter or ANY Hailstorm release = 95% chance of New Money

It's a pretty simple concept to paint wide demographics of idiots with a broad stroke.
