Good times yesterday. Well, other than standing in line for 45 minutes (the last 10 in heavy rain) like dopes when we could've strolled in anytime between 11am and 1pm and grabbed the same table with no problems. But drank with stxSS07, jeblikesbeer, Rizdac, and others whose TB names escape me, ran into middlebrow during his short appearance, befriended a bunch of randoms, and had some killer beers.

My faves from our 11am-9pm tenure there were Rose de Gambrinus (my first Cantillon and a nice mellow way to start the event), FW Agrestic, New Belgium Love Apple Oscar, HABC's Akari Mist, and the best in show, FW Parabajava.
And by short appearance you mean sitting at the bar conversing with my lovely wife for 5 hours.

My Destihl connection fully disclosed, them Lynnbrook cans are the tits.

Loaded up on some "overfills" from the guys @ New Glarus on Saturday. The fact that overfills are a problem in the world is just awesome.

Where were those available?

I saw some either overfills or bad fills/cappings getting poured out 6 at a time in a rinse sink next to the bottling line before.

1) I was there for 11 hours (ugh, what am I doing with my life?), so your 5 was relatively like popping your head in to say hi.

2) Clearly the world revolves around me, and I only saw you for 2 minutes, so I'm basing my statement on that.

Always a pleasure though :)

Ohh so that was you and your wife on the other side of me (the couple not making out / thieving / being awful humans).

Thanks to you and whomever the non-rizdac guy was for offering me the seat that should have been yours. I literally, albeit it by chance, could not have been standing any more squarely behind the other seat when it opened. As I made room for the guy to get out, the making out girl squeezed in from nowhere. Others' tips aren't the only thing she adeptly stole.

Anybody have a sort of list of dog-friendly craft beer bars/brewpubs/brewery taprooms in NE IL? Patio or inside, either way. Specifically speaking, north and NW burbs. But elsewhere is good as well. Thanks.

Scorched Earth in my hometown (Algonquin) is putting a beer garden in next month that will be dog friendly. Also should have their Strawberry Rhubarb Gose ready around the same time.

I pour for Destihl at a variety of fests in Chicago over the past 4-5 years and GTMW for the last 5 years or so and have been to GABF with them. I'm friends with several people on the team (mainly the owner and brewpub brewer) but I did finally meet and pour BUG with Drew recently. They need me less nowadays as they do have a dedicated sales team that isn't JUST Mikey anymore but I still get down there with regularity and pour whenever they could use some help.

hell yea, drew and laura are awesome.

Not to be an ****** or anything, but why is the RB Chicago forum so dead? Just curious. Has TB taken all the posters away?

It looks like a lot of their forums are ghost towns. Odd.

It's more the nature of the community there.

Lots of old people/old guard chased off young enthusiastic people for years.

Now the niche I'm in (07-10) type people blatantly rip on those old people (which has chased them away from participation).

Factor in that conversations like this thread (questions, comments, same old rehashed threads over and over) or stuff you see on BA never being a part of the RB type culture.. and what you are left with is little to no forum activity.

New Glarus R&D Gueuze. Do I want? Did it sell out over the weekend or will it stick around like Wild Bitter did? Not sure I can swing another trip up there all that soon.

It's super tasty! It won't stick around long if there is any left still (I think they were at 8 cases at the beginning of the day). Trading for it locally might be the way to go.

There was so much Wild Bitter left a couple weeks ago so I don't suppose that'd get it done. Thinking about trading makes my brain hurt.

The FT and the ISO seem to be pretty far apart, at least on sites with higher volume...FT seems to be seeking 2:1 on a bottle like prop, ISO offers seem to be like shelf+

I think I saw one close 2:1 for backyard, whatever that means.

Now's a great time to trade for Vintage if you can. So few people have actually opened theirs to realize that this is a substantially better beer than Wild Sour Peach and the barrier for entry to obtain this is far less.
Agreed. I was surprised.

So far I've traded for 5.
