Pipeworks released their Coconut Almond Abduction this week -- now renamed to Toasted Nut Abduction (get it?! TNA! HAH! ****ies!). That one BA user (Inifinite-something) is going to **** himself when he finds out.
Just called beer temple, they just got it.

I wouldn't go that far. It's better than most of the year-round DIPA's that most people in Bell's distro have access to. It's one of the myriad D/IPA's that have been outshone by more recent entrants in the beer game.
That's exactly it. It's perfectly good, just out paced by what has come since. But back in 09, that **** was real.

It might just be the beer -- or the whiskey I've been drinking since -- but Solemn Oath's Ravaged By Vikings is ******* tasty. Pretty close to Dreadnaught, my absolute favorite DIPA, as far as taste and coming in at only $8/bomber, I'm inclined to go back to Binny's tomorrow, the snow/temps notwithstanding. The label art is pretty bad-ass, too. Anyone know if they're doing 12/16oz. packaging, too?

.

Will seek out. If terrible, will seek revenge with acid.

Interesting, may have to check out. Was planning on passing up since Kidnapped by Vikings was fairly mediocre.

I wouldn't disagree about Kidnapped By Vikings -- but as their own commercial description suggests, Ravaged is more successful (via):
Rich caramel malt sweetness is beaten over the head with bright, fresh American hop flavors of grapefruit citrus, pine and tropical fruit in our double IPA. This beer is the bigger, more successful brother of Kidnapped by Vikings.

Are they bringing them to IL? I thought they were just testing them out in CA? Maybe if their brewery here ever opens you will see them ;). 6 packs for $11 is just fine by me though!

Insider tip. Buy sucks at Mariano's if there is one near you. Usually $ 9.50 a six pack. Quite possibly the best deal on shelfs when it's available.

Today's update from Revolution includes information on their 4th Anniversary party:
Today we're brewing our Belgian-style Quad, our 4th Year Beer. Four years of Rev Brew? That’s crazy! To celebrate, we are throwing a party at our Kedzie Avenue brewery (3340 N. Kedzie) on Saturday, February 8th. The $60 tickets are on sale now (http://revbrew.com/shop) and include:
• 12 food & beer pairings
• Complimentary Revolution Brewing Belgian tulip glass
• Full beer lineup available at the tap room bar (20+ beers total)
• 22 oz. bottle of 4th Year Beer Belgian quad on your way out the door

There will be 2 sessions: Early tickets (1-4pm) can be purchased HERE & Late tickets (5-8pm) can be purchased HERE. There is a limited amount of space for each session, so hurry; you don't want to miss it!
And coming up in the next few weeks:
1/8 - Wee Gene, a London-style "not so small" porter, & Willie Wee Heavy, a burly Scotch ale
1/15 - Mandarina Pale, an ale brewed with all Vienna malt and using Mandarina (tangerine and citrus) hops
1/22 - Hugene, a humongous, black-as-night imperial porter, & Straight Jacket barley wine. We're selling bombers of Straight Jacket for $15 at our Kedzie tap room starting 1/22.
1/29 - Riot Pils, a crisp Czech-style pilsner named for the Lager Beer Riots of 1855, Chicago's first civil disturbance.
2/5 - 4th Year Beer, a Belgian-style quad, & TV Party, our rye IPA with huge hop flavor

A sign vanilla is returning sooner than we think?

Considering going just for the glass. Finally, stemmed Rev glassware!

The food at the party last year was so good. I think I might have enjoyed the food more last year than the beer. For the price and what you get it is a pretty great deal.

Absolutely, for the most part the food last year was excellent. The Duck & Bacon Ragout and the Pears Foster dishes were incredible. There was nothing beer-wise that was out of the ordinary beyond Coffee Eugene, which isn't even really that special, but still delicious. 3 more pairings this year than last.

Yeah, the food at Rev functions are always top notch. I've had something on going for the last few, but it looks like I'll be making this one. Most likely late session.

I only have had coffee eugene once and really liked it. I don't see why they don't can it? Wouldn't cost them much more or be that much more effort.

Not to get all Gossip Girl here, but it looks like someone's jimmies were seriously rustled over what some random people on the internet said about their beer:
