Re: Fischmas. I went last year. I am going this year. It was a good time. I expect the same this year.

Personally, I think the tap list was better last year, but there's going to be Proprietor's, Parabola, Merkin, Even More Jesus this year (along with Samichlaus, St Bernardus Christmas) - I think I'll manage for five hours.

I stopped into Evolution today (never been before--happened to be in the area) ... $10.99 for a single bottle of BCBS?! Are you ******* kidding me? After I saw that I decided I wasn't buying anything regardless of what they had.

To celebrate the grand opening of The Beer Cellar in Glen Ellyn in early January, I will be working closely with owner, Dave Hawley, to organize a "sneak peak" event featuring the Bourbon County 2013 lineup on Thursday, January 2nd at 7pm.

In addition to getting a first look at the the western burb's newest craft beer haven, Dave will be introducing his plans for a Rare Beer Club and other member perks.

Seats at this event will be very limited and will cost $35. Each ticket will also include one lottery entry for the right to buy a bottle of Proprietor's!

Goose is debuting their collaboration with Deschutes on Thursday at the Clybourn Pub. Sounds pretty interesting... and free glassware! (via):

Celebrate Deschutes' and Goose Island's 25th Anniversaries with the release of our collaboration beers!

Join us Thursday for a side by side sampling of our "Class of '88" Belgian Golden Ales in the company of Deschutes Brewery Brewmaster Cam O'Connor and Goose Island Beer Co. Brewmaster Brett Porter.

Plus, both breweries will be giving away a glass with purchase of full beers. While supplies last.

Also, Local Option has an event coming up on Friday. I haven't seen anything about it on those other sites so.... I'm sure it will still be a crowded mess. Beer list below (via):

I believe he was talking about Blue Gene. Quotes of quotes don't work, but alerts still pop up if you're quoted. And IMHO BA Behemoth was pretty good at FoBAB (i was quite a few drinks in though, so who knows).

Edit ... but not $40 good. I'd pay $20-25 for a bottle if it didn't require traveling.

1st sesh the last two years and it has been terrible both times. Pour it out in the buckets terrible. Pretty sure I'm not the only one with this experience, but whatever floats your boat. Not trying to start some CA-style homie war.
