I've been interested in making some brew for a while, and have what I think would be a great name for it... but I was wondering, whats the legality in selling homebrews? And... I see that you can order receipe packages online.. are those sellable?

at all? not even in like a small local place that someone you know owns?

Pay the tax man and he's happy.
But then there's all the local authority stuff and food safety to consider.

Get caught selling it and they like to lock you up.

In Oregon the permits to brew & sell ale start at $500/year and go up from there. No retail seller can sell any ale they didn't buy from a distributor, unless they have a brewpub license and make it themselves.

in texas it's about $3,200/year, and that w/ selling food. wine is like $320 bucks. crazy hu? but no. you can't sell homebrew. good try though :~)
