Hey all,

I have a quick question, maybe someone can tell me how bad an idea this is...

I have a clone brew recipe for a steam ale I want to make. It calls for Wyeast 2112 (California Lager Yeast). The fermentation temperature for this yeast is supposed to be good for 14-20 C, but the recipe calls for fermenting at 13 C. My problem, though, is that I have no lagering fridge and the coolest room in my house right now gives me a steady 22 C.

So what is this going to do to my beer? Should it still come out ok? How different do you think it'll be from the beer I'm cloning?

All opinions appreciated...

You should be fine. I made my last batch of California Common and it fermented at about 74 degrees F - and it tasted the same as the stuff I fermented in the 60s with the previous batch.
