I am brewing my first 5 gallon batch..(English Brown Ale)....Today is Wednesday night and I am still not showing any bubbles in the Airlock.......The 5 Gallon bucket seems to be air tight and the brewing went well. Is it still fermenting even though it is not showing signs. Can I open it????? I dont want to spoil anything so Ill wait from some tips.....Thanks in advance!!!:mug:

I racked to the primary after cooling to 78 degrees slowly and pitched.......The directions said stir it in there......hmmmmm....

2 things

with your lid on the bucket press down in the middle of the lid. If you see motion in your air lock from air trying to get out it's sealed, if ya dont it's not sealed

be patient, sometimes lag times can be longer then others, check it again in the morning, and opening it up as long as your not throwing dog**** into your brew wont harm anything. Just dont leave it open and close it back up when your done peeking.

open it up, look for a Krausen ring around the level of the top of your wort. My guess is that you didnt have a seal.

If ya have the ring just seal it up and let it go.
If ya dont have the ring repitch ASAP as long as you dont have any mold and it smells ok (think about using a dry yeast at this point, you'll be pitching more yeast cells and it's less expensive if your beer turns out to be ruined)

DO NOT THROW YOUR WORT OUT UNTIL YOU CHECK WITH US
