Fermenter question...need help!

Ok, I have kind of a dumb question...

I recently got a Brewer's Best kit that contains a 6.5 gallon bucket fermenter. My question is, how tight is the lid supposed to be? When I put the lid on, there is the smallest snap sound and it's not very secure; a 1 yr old could pull it off. It seems as if the lid would pop off once some CO2 starts to get produced. Is the lid supposed to be this loose or did I get a bad match/bucket?

it should be pretty tight. when i still used an ale pail...it was a SOB to get off
