Hey there,

I brewed the Deception Cream Stout last week, the recipe of which I found on this website and I left on a vacation 2 days after racking it into the primary only to come back a week later and find the airlock blown off and beer covering the sides of the carboy. From reading other stories of this, I guess I'm lucky it didn't explode all over my basement. My question is this, the beer doesn't smell or taste bad but it's been fermenting without an airlock for up to 1 week, how will this affect the beer?

Thanks a ton!

it should be ok. just proceed normally. replace the airlock. The fermentation expels CO2 so O2 exposure should be minimal.
