I have access to a 4.3 cu ft mini fridge and I have access to an 8 cu ft freezer with a419 controller. Which will make for a better fermentation chiller?

Both will work fine, assuming you could use the controller for the mini fridge. (Your wording is kind of ambiguous.) I guess it depends on how many carboys you want to chill at once. You'll only get one in the mini fridge, but you may be able to get as many as 3 in the freezer depending on the geometry.

You could go with the multi headed approach and use one for ales and the other for lagers. Or, if you're not a lager fan, the smaller one could easily be used for cold crashing. The think about multiple brews at once is you'll need multiple controllers if you want each at a different temp. Just some thoughts.
