its starting to get to warm for me to ferment my beers, and i dont wanna stop brewing for the summer. I have an extra Air conditioner, and want to building myself a fermentation chamber, and have some questions for the great minds on this site. I would be storing the chamber in the same room i keep my bottled/kegged beers would the ac create to much heat outide the chamber? I have a thermostat on the ac would i need anything else to control my temps? and of coarse is it safe to have an ac unit running when it isnt being vented out doors?

Too much heat? Yes. Your beer storage area will be getting a heater installed.

Need anything to control temps? A/C units may require more temp control than it comes with. The temperature range may be too wide for your yeast.

Safe to run inside? Do you have a wife who may wish to kill you? Noise?

I know of no reason why it wouldn't be safe. It will heat up your room, though how much of an effect it has will depend on the amount of airflow you've got going into the room.

If the thermostat is accurate, that can work. It won't be measuring the temperature of the beer but rather the temperature of the air, so you'll have to get a feel for the system to keep your temps steady. If your air isn't circulating fast enough, you can throw in a small fan to keep temperatures steady.

Good luck! :mug:
