Here some photos of my fermentation chamber as there don't seem to be too many posts on non modified ones.
After doing some research into making a freezer collar I decided to just get a 15c freezer, because it was easier. I bought it at Sears for $500, free delivery and its great so far. As you can see there is plenty of room. Of course you can get one 1/3 the size, but whats the fun of limited fermentation space and room to keep its older brew brothers?
I used Velcro to get the Johnson control to stay put. The control itself is much easier to use than the instruction booklet would lead you to believe. I used painter's tape to attach the probe to the carboy, which is working great. The probe cord itself does not seem to effect the gasket at all.
Pretty pumped to taste my first lager! If for some reason I don't have beer in here I could store half a tasty cow.
