Hello, I'm still in the stages of extract brewing but would like to use a Farmhouse yeast. My question is. What would be a good base beer to brew for such a yeast? I was thinking of a Belgian Blonde. What do you guys think?

Thanks

Any recipe can be great with farmhouse style yeasts, it just depends on your taste buds. I prefer the simple ones like Belg. blonds as it lets the yeast shine the most.

20 to 30 IBUs, no crystal, just Pilsner or Pale LME, a little wheat if you want, 15 to 20% plain white sugar, and finish with a small amount of a noble hop. Ferment warm (within the guidelines of the yeast).

There really are no guidelines; it's a Farmhouse, anything goes. Simple is more traditional, but people sometimes make full-on Pale Ales with the yeast.
