Got my hands on some perforated polypropylene sheet with 3/32" (0.094") holes. Want to use this as my false bottom for my MLT instead of a manifold. Any thoughts on this? I know I will have to support it above the bottom of the cooler, which I intend on doing with some stainless steel 'u' channels or running some 1/2" copper around the edge of the cooler and one long piece down the center that will have varying sizes of copper coming off the center that will offer support and funnel some of the pre-wort to the middle. This middle piece would be attached to the bulkhead. I guess I am wondering whether I need the copper to try and equally funnel the mash liquid or would a simple support system for the sheet be all I need. Any other thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
