I just brewed my third batch and after pitching the yeast, soon it foamed and was releasing gas through the airlock, but that subsided a bit and there does not seem to be an active fermentation. I had a successful batch where fermentation was violent and visible so i know what it will look like. But it has been 2 days and I see nothing now.
Do you think there is a problem? or am i just being jumpy?

Sounds ok, as long as it started. Each fermentation is different and some are very vigorous and some are not.
If you're really concerned, you could sanitize a turkey baster or wine thief and take an sg reading. That will tell you for sure.

Is the airlock/stopper or lid (if you use a bucket) tighly sealed?

Do you have an hydrometer? I'm guessing not because you'd be able to find the answer.
Without one you are guessing.
You may not have a proper seal.
It may be done, It may of stalled.

wise words. airlock activity is a very loose way to gauge fermentation.

good yeast population and lower gravity beers can easily ferment in 36 hours (at least vigorous enough for airlock bubbling...they still should sit at least 7 days in primary)
