This might be a stupid question but is there any difference in the flavor that the different extracts give beer?

I know the color difference but I am not sure on flavor, for example extra pale vs amber extract. Or does most of the flavor come out of your steeping grains and hops?

Every extract from light to amber to dark all will give you a different taste as well as body. Each one is made by basically creating an all grain wort then extracting the water from it. The all grain recipes from light to dark to create the wort use some of the same grains but a lot of different grains to give it a distinctive difference in taste, body, and color. Hope this helps.
