Extra hops to pre hopped extract kit

I want to add a little extra bit to the Coopers extract kits I make. I dont wanna boil the prehopped extract though so here is my plan will it work?

I anna bring water in my brewpot to a boil and add my LMW and hop pelletts. Boile them for about 30 minutes - then lower the temp to just below boil and add my Coopers Prehopped extract. Shouldt that work fine to add some hoppy bitterness?

I've done that and it works well.
I've also used hopped DME along with a kit with good results.
