I love me a good PBR, $5.99 for a 12 pack of bottles, $5.98 for a twelve pack of cans here in NC. I drink primarily homebrew, but PBR is pretty much my go to beer if its not a Friday (aka payday). Revvy brings up a good point with the corn adjuncted versus rice adjuncted beers, I had always noticed that PBR has a substantially creamier mouthfeel than bud products but had never really delved further. Good information to know.

On another note, can it safely be said that all BMC light beers are just trash. Really about the only things I downright steer clear of are the bud lights, miller lite, and coors light. The stuff just doesn't even seem like beer.

I have no qualms about ordering a Corona - with lime - in a Mexican restaurant. When in Rome...

When I am going to start drinking before lunch and sit in the hot sun on a beach somewhere a pail of Coronas or Presidentes are probably soon to follow.

I like my mexican food spicy enough that you can't taste a cheap lager anyways :rockin:

it's amazing to me how almost every girl i know loves blue moon. I know maybe a few guys that like it, but every girl that likes beer loves Blue moon. weird

Neither of those beers are on my favorites list but at least they aren't BMC. Blue Moon was probably one of the first "craft" beers I tried. It wasn't terrible but it encouraged me to look for variety.

Ten characters to indicate I am in agreement.

No doubt. Every beer has a place. It's miller or PBR for summer festivals if taking HB isn't an option or is just a PITA. When we went on our honeymoon to the Riviera Maya, it was coronas on the bus from the airport to the resort and Corona's by the pool when it wasn't liquor. Corona with lime goes great with the beach IMO. Then again, I think a bottle of cat piss with a lime would be good too given the environment. That has a lot to do with setting the mood.

yea I made a mistake, i meant as far as dos equis goes. i edited my post
I wasn't trying to call you out or anything, just confused. That makes sense, and did you see Death's comment about it being called something else in Canada?

Try this then:

Take the Dos Equis... pour over a big goblet that you filled with ice cubes, and salted the rim (like a margarita)... then add a couple splashes of hot sauce, Worcester sauce and lime juice.

Michelada = great summer time backyard - or sitting on a beach drink!

I've tried this. Very refreshing on a hot day.
Works with any Mexican beer (I think I used Pacifico).

I didn't add the Worcester sauce thought. :drunk:

yay! i'm in the prole's thread! ;)

i've not had blue moon that i recall. xx is alright, and i'll drink just about any bmc, even out of a camouflaged 22oz can. :drunk: i prefer the miller products over their bud competitors.

I will always have a special place in my heart for Blue Moon. It is the beer that made me like beer in general and then moved me into craft beer and eventually into brewing. It showed me that beer can have flavor!! :ban:

Here in Texas, Dos Equis is the only beer besides the BMC's and their lights that most places have on tap, so it is pretty much my go-to beer when nothing better is available. I do enjoy drinking it and if you

That being said I will drink BMC if there is nothing else available and I still really want a beer. :drunk: It helps that I only graduated college a few years ago...

Blue Moon is made by the Molson Coors Brewing Company, so it IS BMC. It's not bad tho...not a true wit, but a decent beer. In Canada, it is called "Rickard's White", so you may want to check for that, Pivot.

Is that true about Rickard's White being the same as blue moon? I tried Rickard's white once, and thought that it was, hands down, the worst white beer I had ever had. I've never had a blue moon, we don't get it up here, but I hear it talked about. (Maybe I had a bad batch?)

miller high life is the best bmc out there, especially in the sexy champagne curved bottle. the non civilian round.

look, they got a cowgirl up in a crescent moon. it even trumphs the musselmen. ;)

A few weeks ago, heading to my brother-in-law's house (he's a High Life drinker) I picked up a 12'er of (of all things...) Schlitz.

For cheap beer, it was pretty damn tasty, and much more flavorful than lite beers or most other BMC. It may just replace PBR as my go-to el-cheapo beer.

Rickards White was the first white beer I ever had, and it almost ruined them for me altogether. its a terrible beer.

I'll give a lot of things a try, especially if they are free. A lot of my friends like Blue Moon, but I don't care for it that much. XX isn't bad, especially if eating nuclear mexican food. My theory on mexican food is that if, while eating it, you aren't sweating, panting and urinating a little, it sucks. <- No, I never took girls on dates to mexican restaurants.

I am apprehensive about trying any Bud product, but American Ale is on my list. I have only liked one product from them before - bare knuckle stout.

On a separate note, I got a free Amber Bock on tap a couple of months ago. I had about 3 sips and actually committed the crime of throwing out beer. I like the metaphor used earlier - like someone drank good beer and pissed into a bottle - except they didn't drink good beer in the first place with Amber Bock. It's just piss.

I'm sorry, but as a Portland resident I have to drink PBR as my BMC beer. It's written into the city code. I think I've had Blue Moon before, but if I have it's been years.

Schlitz, since reintroduced using an older recipe, is pretty damn good beer. Couple that with the fact that a case is 9.99 out the door acrossed the state line in Indiana, and you have a winner, winner, chicken dinner! Several stores by me can barely keep the stuff on the shelves. Of course I would rather have a HB i made or a micro, that's why the stuff is around. On the other hand, i'm not gonna drink 12 HB in a night while playing poker or beanbags. That's just wasteful! Oh and PBR and Old Style are ok too.

The wife loves blue moon and introduced it to my friends wife who now likes it. She even asked me to get a keg of it once, I said no.

Not a fan of the Blue Moon...any of the mexican beers go good with mexican food imo.
But to each their own. And btw, im just gna throw myself under the bus...if im going somewhere where im going to drink a pile of beers...i drink miller lite. There. I said it. I like miller lite.
