Everedy Climax Red Antique Bottle Capper

I just bought this Climax, Everedy Antique Bottle Capper and wanted to give it a go with capping my brew. I can't seem to get the hang of it. It's either too far away from the bottle and cap to make contact or I adjust it down and it feels as though the bottle is going to break if I push the lever all the way down.

Anyone have experience with one of these that is willing to share some instructions / tips?

I do not have any experience with one of those. (I bet not many folks do!) One thought that crosses my mind is that there are different size bottle caps. Maybe your capper is the wrong size for the bottles you are trying to cap? Try doing a search for bottle cap size and you will find some info.
