Does anyone have a good method for storing all there brewing equipment. I am having a hard time coming up with a good way to store everything from Pots, MLT, down to things like a stir plate and stir bars. Any suggestions?

A nice Monster Shelf in the garage helps. Make sure everything is clean and dry before you put stuff up though. Putting small items in rubbermaid tubs with lids will help organize it too.

Ditto the shelf. Wife was getting annoyed with how much space brewing was taking up so we dropped a hundred on an enormous shelf in the garage. It now hold everything except the fermenting carboys.

Is there any issues with the equipment getting cold? I live in MT and its pretty nippy up here in the winter.

spare bedroom......well the closet of the spare bedroom

I got a bigmamma plastic shelf thing and put it in the closet...holds all my stuff but carboys

Keggles.

I'm a bit worried about this myself. I currently have stuff in my garage on a shelf / table that I made and try to keep as much as possible of it covered. The scary thing though is that my girlfriend has cats that are outside cats, and will be using the garage for their little box / food / place to sleep at night when they come home. This just sings nasty cat dander and whatever else in all my brewering gear and bottles. =/

What do you guys think I should do? Invest in some nice closeable rubbermaid containers and put everything that doesn't have a lid (tubes, siphons ect, in there? Thoughts?

Except for my pots and chiller, pretty much everything I own goes into those plastic rubbermaid containers -- equipment and grains/extract/etc. I also made a long container out of PVC pipe for the long items, like my mash spoon, autosiphon, wine thief, etc that has a cap. I store all my stuff in the basement, but that's where our cats hang out most. Never had a problem, though, since everything is sealed up.

I'd enclose everything or get a bb gun. :D

(sorry, had to wipe the drool off my keyboard)

Nice 'shed', you Bastid! :cross:

My wife told me I had to build one too, and fill it with expensive brewing equipment. But I wear the pants in the family and put my foot down!

SWMBO made me build a 10 X10 shed to store all of my stuff...

Sweet! It looks like you have plastic walls. Did you pour a pad?

I still want a brew shed like this one.

But I may downsize the part hut and build a simple shed behind it for the actual brewing & fermenting. My goals is to have a dedicated building where I don't have to move anything. Brew, chill, and pump into a conical in a temp controlled room. Then keg and bring to the party hut.

When I built my patio I extended it out for the spa and shed. The problem is SWMBO makes me keep all of my stuff in there so my mountain bikes are taking up a lot of space, it doesn't look nice and neat anymore and I have to drag a bunch of stuff out to brew.

My Closet under the stairs where I do all of my fermenting.

Carboys: 1 West Coast Red Ale, 1 Blue Moon Clone, 1 Apfelwein, 1 gallon grape juice wine
Bottles: 2 cases of Nut Brown Ale conditioning

The left side of my "Brew Bench" in my garage. It's kinda cluttered right now.

6 carboys, and several cases of bottles

And the right side of my bench. Again, junk everywhere. We're kind os in the process of cleaning out our whole house and getting rid of stuff, so a lot of stuff is currently disheveled.

More bottles, some Stone and Rogue bottles soaking in Star San, More Carboys, bottle tree, misc brew stuff on top.

Big 120L plastic boxs with lids, chuck chuck it all in there. My gear is stored in my cellar which is not the cleanest place. When it rains water runs through. Mice. Dirt. I love it!!!
In the process of sorting it out, building a large floored off storage area for bottles and long term secondaries. ...just have to through out all of the stuff that we no longer use. ....time to back the ute down the drive way and fill her up!

That's what I want to avoid. I want to open doors on both ends for air flow and start brewing, so I'll build a custom shed just for brewing & fermenting.

My supervisor shared our basement utility room with me after I agreed to paint the concrete block walls and the concrete floor, and put up a couple kitchen over-counter cabinets for her laundry and cleaning stuff.

I then built in about 14 feet of kitchen counter top/under-counter cabinets in an L shape with a small SS sink on the short side of the L. Put up a couple over-counter cabinets as well, and built a storage area next to the furnace for carboys, cornies and keggles. It's all knock-down equipment, but it all stores in the cabinets and drawers. I was able to squeeze in a chest freezer/kegorator. I'll post a picture when I figure out how.

I store everything over my kitchen cabinets. Pretty much every inch of space up there is used, as well as the top of the fridge.

I have two mainframe cabinets that I'm able to store all of my equipment, ingredients, and materials in.
