I honestly believe Quick is better than both. Problem is any team is the underdog cause of BS reffing during the game. Some reason the zebras love Vanhoover.

Yeah, 5 straight penalties and two 5v3's is clear zebra lovin'. It's pretty common knowledge many refs have been extra hard on them since last year's embellishment-fest.

Far out 4.30 start this morning to catch the game. Gunna be a long day!

Nucks started good but spent the rest of the game so far handing the kings PP.

Gunna be pretty hard to win the game playing a man down. Lucky lou is all over it!

Let's go nuck!

Not just a man down. Every minute of PK is a minute Sedin is not on the ice.

Ha ha HA HA HA.......

Crosby was a factor early and then took a few hits and wilted. Letang was a target all night and wanted nothing to do with the puck by the end of the game.

Flyers back in the game... but it was a major offside LOL. Can't complain about officiating bias anymore after seeing that...

I didn't see much of this game but that missed offsides call was hideous. I guess Briere blew the zebras this time.

How about Nashville? Not looking intimidated. Love the divisional battles in the first round.

Nashville stole game 1. Detroit had the better looks and outplayed the Preds for the majority of that game. Hopefully Helm's ok and Weber has to sit a few games. Go Wings!

I think he means that the calling has been very tight. Hence, the call on Kesler for snow-showering Quick.

Ah yeah, that was a BS penalty. The dude here that said he deserved TWO is retarded.

I guess tight is the right word if you like watching playoff games where the refs decide they need to have a say in the outcome of the game.

Me, id rather let the players decide the game.

The players decided they didn't want a 3 goal lead anymore.

No, tight is the definition used when refs are calling everything under the sun as a minor penalty. You don't have to like it.

I don't know how they missed it. They were a bit out of position, but not bad enough to miss the call. It happens. Look up the offside, well inside call in the series in 1980 - Flyers/Islanders. That call altered hockey history. It happens. Pittsburgh can't blame that loss on one bad call. They got one on the waived off icing that led to the third goal.

They got everything they needed from Fleury to win that game. They didn't finish defensively, the Flyers wore them down physically, and they stopped playing their dominating game like they did in the first. As stated, they could not sustain that pace for the entire game and the Flyers juts kept grinding and chipping away.

Look at the OT goal and how Letang and Staal wanted no part of the physical game or they just effed up big time by not paying attention to the position of their assignments as a d-man and centerman.

If I'm a Pens fan, I'm at least a little nervous - Flyers only got one dirty goal from close in. The rest were shots deflected/skill goals. They didn't ever really get the real estate in Fleury's office occupied and grind out that battle. They got one rebound goal, the game winner, and that's it. The Flyers usually beat Fleury off rebounds and dirty goals where they out work and physically dominate that space.

And Fleury definitely didn't have a soft game. He was the sole reason it didn't end in regulation by a score of 6-3 or worse. He had some highlight saves last night. I was really worried he had flipped his playoff series switch where he just shuts the Flyers down.

It's only one game, but as long as the Bryz of the last two periods and OT shows up and the Flyers continue to dominate special teams, they're going to win this series.

Let's not forgot about the blown icing call on the Penguins

I said he deserved 2 not for the play but also the interference on Quick. Oh by the way, retard?

I never meant that you called for two penalties for the single snow-showering (I don't think even the icing-confused, post-lockout Pittsburgh bandwagoners are THAT ignorant), just that he shouldn't have received even the one penalty.

Whatever, though. Despite the loss, Luongo was actually fantastic all night, and unless they keep spending half the game in the box, I'm more confident now than even BEFORE last night's game that the Canucks will have this series. If they get the other Sedin back at any point, it's pretty much a lock.

I'm expecting Bitz to get a suspension, along with Weber. That hit was blatant and with the elbow up, to the back of the head and into the boards...it's textbook.

Can't believe the Kings killed 5 penalties only allowing 4 shots on goal...and they had 8 power plays.

Anyone read anything about why the scheduling has NJ/FLA starting two days later than the opening of the playoffs? Seemed logical to put two east and two west games each night.

If their series goes 6 or 7 games, it could end up leaving a break of several days to a week until the second round starts.

Didn't see the game so I can't comment on the icing. I just saw the replay at intermission of the wings game and he was way offsides. I don't know how that could be missed. It also gave philly life and was 1 of the 3 goals that sent the game to ot. If I was a pens fan I'd be pretty pissed and if I was flyers I'd admit it was a gimme.

They are, we have. However, one call on the ice, at that point in the game, 13:38 left in the second, up 3-0, that one missed offside call doesn't make up for the loss of the game. Had Fleury made the save, it's a non-issue. Had the Flyers not clawed their way back to force overtime and win and the Pens not coughed up a 3-0 lead, it's a non-issue.

As far as I'm concerned, each team had a goal scored of a miscue by the officials when it comes to the lines on the ice, not penalty calls. The fact the officials didn't get the call consistent on the icing and Coburn got there first...there's Pittsburgh's goal. Briere got the other one.

I'm just glad last night didn't take this long:

And I love the pathetic Penguins fan trying to start a "Flyers Suck!" chant after the Flyers scored in OT. Epic fail as no one picked up on it with him and his timing is a bit off.
