Here are some logical thoughts on the game from a Leaf fan - I like to think I don't wear the blinders, but you probably won't believe me. At least my boy kratzer will understand...
What is this talk of Reimer being the best goalie ever? Please point out where someone has said that.
hfboards.com end of last season. HFboards is the internets largest hockey forum.
He has been struggling lately - I would have played him against the Rags - throw him right to the wolves, but I'm not paid millions to make these decisions.
Both goalies let in a soft goal each, so that's fine. Don't want that happening in the 3rd though but what can you do. If you're going to get scored on though, it might as well be on a great shot over the shoulder while you're down. Should the goalie save those? Yes. But was it still a great shot by Turris? You bet!
I'm not sure where all your confidence is coming from though Confidence is coming from being 5th in the East in a season they have no business even being competitive! It's what happens when your team over achieves this much.- if you think that Ottawa played a good 60-minutes, you're dreaming. They were severely outplayed in the first 2 periods, and could only score with a bit of interference on the first goal, and then Spezza had to sit on the goalie for the second. That second goal is the definition of lucky - Spezza's got no idea where his stick is, and it just somehow nicks the puck while he's got his ass firmly planted on Reimer.
Not sure how the refs don't call that, but whatever - it's hockey, these things swing both ways eventually.
definately - see this for proof! ..

In fact, the only good hockey I saw from the Sens was after they had the lead and were able to lull the entire ACC in to a deep sleep with their defensive play. Perfect road strategy - I ain't knocking it.
Just saying that if you think Ottawa was somehow the better team last night, you might want to revisit that opinion. Sens were obviously not better last night. Anderson was.
Phaneuf's face is still broken - I'm surprised he fought at all. But then again not really, as he likes to lead by example. You don't like what someone did to you? Fight them, even if you might lose. I thought it was pretty cool.
I also thought Foligno was a cheap **** for punching a guy with a jersey over his face, but that's all heat-of-the-moment stuff so I guess it's cool. This is hockey. If you end up with a shirt on your head, you suck at fighting and should rethink doing it.
Anyway, Sens are hot right now, and when you're hot you win games you shouldn't. Leafs were the same way at the beginning of the season. Hopefully things will be better against Minnesota on Thursday - but Minny always seems to give Toronto trouble.
Question becomes who to start? I'd go back to Gustavsson Thursday, Reimer Saturday, then split 'em again for the two games next week against the Islanders.
Toronto gets their chance in a couple weeks in Ottawa where it's always fun seeing the greatest fans in hockey take over an opposing team's arena. Just because there is an extremely vocal minority of leafs fans in the building being obnoxious. I go to games all the time against Toronto. Those are really not people to be proud of. If you met some of them, you would probably agree.
GO LEAFS GO!
