There's a reason why everyone's sleeping when the Wild play the Blue Jackets.
Ill give you that one amd the coyotes, but the entire southeast division isnt much better, not counting Stamkos

Just wait till sunday when the oil end the hawks streak.
Of course the oil fell asleep in Minnesota, it can get pretty boring playing in an empty building
Yes but they still get to play real hockey teams which is entertaining, unlike those wallowing in Western Conference irrelevance.
ive been secretly hoping that they would follow the leafs blueprint for success from the past 10 years, but it seems to change from year to yearBut if they start winning, how are they going to draft first overall again and continue to build this magical powerhouse team?
What a mess that franchise is.

It doesnt matter wether you finsh 30th or 17th, you play the same number of playoff games. The oil have won 15 more playoff games than the make believes have even played in the last decade
What was the valid point? That long term the oil having good forwards, a very solid ( not a star but still very capable) goaltender along with a potential future star ( schultz) and a very underrated dman ( smid) makes them a mess compared to a team who traded away 3 draft picks for kessel ( who may be gone this year), two inconsistent unproven goalies who do have potential, one of the most overrated defenseman in the league ( phaneuf) and a reputation as a team who can't get it done in the second half of the season. finish high enough to miss the playoffs but not low enough to get a decent draft pick. Doesnt really matter though if only 1 of the first round picks from the last decade even plays a game in the NHL.
I'm not saying The oilers are potential dynasty, but if you look at the last 10 years for both teams and the next 10 years I know who I think looks like they're going to be in better shape.
I figure you'll agree with me on this, any oil fan who brings up the 80s and any leaf hater who says 1967 to try and win their argument needs to stop living in the past
Goofynewfie said:83 games.......do you know steve masons stats after 83 games? better than Riemers or Dubnyks( with a playoff appearance)
Thank you for posting Dubnyks almost identical stats ( from playing on what we agree is the worse team in the time period) wins don't tell much of the story, the goaltender has no control over how many goals has team scores.
So...equal numbers but on a worse team . were you trying to disprove my point about the goaltending?
I was pointing out that it is to early to say that reimer is the real deal. Not sure exact aftet 83 games but after 63 Mason had 33 wins, 10 shutouts,2.29 gaa,.916%
So yes, I would take Dubnyk, he has been consistent. Reimer has not.
Nobody is arguing that the leafs have a better team RIGHT NOW. Look at the last 10 years and potential for next 10 . Different story
