I was brewing a red ale. Then my wife was feeling terrible all of a sudden, so we left for the emergency room.
I took 5 minutes to throw everything in a carboy and a pack of dry yeast (better risk it than throwing it away)
It was at 35°C (95°f) when i put dry yeast pack and had boiled foronly about 30minutes.
I came home 12 hours later. And it was bubbling like crazy. Vent had blocked and popped off. Brew was everywhere...
I wonder how terrible its gonna taste...
Ill keep you updated when i taste it

Ps:wife is ok. She got an allergic reaction to an antibiotic for her pneumonia. How unlucky can you be...

Well if you got it cooled down to 65 in a couple of hours you might be able to salvage this. If you have hot alcohol flavors let it age for a while as they can mellow with time. The wife is what is important, The beer you can brew again!:mug:

Yes,of course the wife is what is important. I just wanted to share this experience. I was surprised that it was fermenting wildly after 10 hours. I thought i would have time to get home and cool it somehow before it ferments too much.

Anyways. I racked it already and ill brew another batch this weekend. Well see how the emergency room red ale turns out. Maybe ill just keep it aside and use it for cooking (onion soup, bbq marinade ...)
